Disclaimer Period

The disclaimer period is six weeks from the date you became aware of the inheritance and the grounds of your appointment as heir, or six months in cases with a foreign element. Please act promptly.

Children of the Renouncing Party

Important: As a result of the renunciation, the children of the renouncing party may become the next heirs. If the inheritance is not to be accepted for them either, they must also declare a renunciation – a separate disclaimer period runs for each child. Children of full age declare the renunciation themselves. For minor children, the parents with custody declare the renunciation on their behalf; please provide the details below.

No further details are required – children of full age renounce the inheritance themselves, if desired.

Minor Child 1

Renunciation on Behalf of a Minor

Both parents with custody must declare the renunciation on behalf of the child. In certain cases, approval by the family court is required.
